MOODY -- Following four years competing in powerlifting for Moody High School, senior Pashence Barrera ended her high school powerlifting career at the recent Texas High School Women's Powerlifting Association state meet in Corpus Christi. Pashence was able to test her strength against the best in the state at the event and began the day by setting a person best squatting 245 pounds. She followed that up with 135 pounds in the bench press, just shy of her personal best of 140 pounds. She wrapped up her time at the state meet with a deadlift of 240 pounds, tying her personal best.
